The Anambra State Government says its ongoing development initiatives are aimed at transforming communities, improving public services and creating a more supportive environment for economic activities and human development across the state.
The Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Dr Law Mefor, stated this during an interview in his office at the Secretariat, Awka, on October 27.
Mefor pointed to developments in infrastructure and public facilities as part of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s wider ambition to improve living conditions and accelerate the state’s transformation.
He referenced investments in healthcare infrastructure, including general hospitals, as well as electricity and other development initiatives intended to improve access to essential services and support communities.
The Commissioner explained that the administration’s development agenda extended beyond the construction of physical infrastructure, stressing the importance of creating an environment where citizens could benefit from improved public facilities and expanding economic opportunities.
He noted that the transformation of communities required sustained attention to infrastructure, public services and the conditions that enable residents to live and work productively.
Mefor’s remarks also highlighted the relationship between physical development and the government’s Value Reformation agenda, which seeks to promote hard work, integrity, discipline and responsible citizenship among Ndi Anambra.
According to him, the state government’s broader ambition is to achieve development that reflects positively on the quality of life of residents, while encouraging citizens to embrace the responsibilities that accompany social and economic progress.
The Commissioner expressed confidence that sustained implementation of the administration’s initiatives, alongside improved public attitudes and responsible conduct, would contribute to Anambra’s long-term development objectives.
