SOLUDO FLAGS OFF ACPN 44TH INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE IN AWKA
The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, CFR, has officially declared open the 44th International Scientific Conference of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), tagged “Ifeadigo 2025.”

The event, which took place at the International Convention Center, Awka, the Anambra State capital, attracted no fewer than five thousand pharmacists from across the country.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Soludo described the theme of the conference, “Technology Integration and Personalized Care: The Future of Community Pharmacy Practice,” as timely and relevant. He acknowledged the crucial role pharmacists play in supporting other healthcare professionals in safeguarding public health.

The Governor, however, expressed concern over the proliferation of fake and adulterated pharmaceutical products in various markets, which he noted have contributed to a range of serious health challenges, including kidney diseases. He emphasized the urgent need for synergy within the health sector and urged pharmacists to intensify efforts in self-policing, regulatory compliance, and internal oversight.

Reiterating his administration’s commitment to strengthening primary healthcare in Anambra State, Governor Soludo affirmed that enhanced grassroots healthcare delivery remains a top priority of his government.
In a gesture of goodwill, the Governor pledged to refund the payments made for the use of the conference venue, as well as the accommodation of key officials. He commended pharmacists for their unwavering commitment to quality healthcare delivery across society.

Earlier in his remarks, the National President of ACPN, Pharmacist Ambrose Igwekamma, emphasized that the theme of the conference was thoughtfully crafted to align with the evolving demands of the digital era. He encouraged members to seize the opportunity for robust engagement, innovation, and renewed commitment to excellence in community pharmacy practice.
