The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, marked his 65th birthday on July 28, with tributes pouring in from Ndi Anambra and beyond.
For many in the state’s fast-growing tech community, the milestone was also a moment to spotlight the Governor’s bold technology vision, which is steadily transforming Anambra’s digital future.
Speaking on the celebration, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata (CFA), MD/CEO of the Anambra State ICT Agency and convener of the Geeks & Founders Alliance for Soludo (GEFAS), described Governor Soludo as a leader whose commitment to the “Everything Technology, Technology Everywhere” mantra is turning big ideas into measurable progress for the people.
“Under Soludo’s leadership, Anambra has witnessed an aggressive push to digitize government operations, expand free Solution WiFi access, deploy smart solutions, and build strong public-private partnerships aimed at creating jobs and attracting investment.
“For us at the ICT Agency and the Geeks & Founders Alliance, Mr. Governor’s vision keeps challenging us to push boundaries: from driving e-governance initiatives to strengthening connectivity and smart city solutions that make Anambra truly work for everyone,” CFA said.
He also highlighted landmark decisions like the removal of Right of Way (RoW) charges, which have accelerated broadband rollout and laid the foundation for deeper digital inclusion across the state.
“Leadership is not about lofty speeches but clear action. Governor Soludo has shown us that bold policies can transform an entire ecosystem and position Anambra as a true destination, not a departure lounge,” he noted.
Reaffirming the tech community’s commitment to the administration’s broader vision, CFA added: “As Anambra continues to strengthen its digital and physical infrastructure, we remain committed to building a resilient, innovative economy that works for every citizen.
“Happy birthday, Mr. Governor, the Anambra State ICT Agency and the Geeks and Founders Alliance for Soludo (GEFAS) stand solidly with you to foster more impact, more solutions, and a future that keeps rising.” CFA concluded.
