Academic activities have fully resumed on Mondays in Onitsha schools, Anambra State, following Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s decision to abolish the sit-at-home directive. Principals of selected schools confirmed this during an on-the-spot assessment by State Information Officers.
At Ado Girls’ Secondary School, the Principal, Mrs. Chinelo Okocha said the school is now operating fully on Mondays with increased attendance. The school had maintained extracurricular activities during the restriction period and has now resumed full academic work.

The Prince Memorial High School Principal, Dr. Amaka Ubaka, also confirmed full resumption of academic activities on Mondays, with improved students attendance and staff presence. She commended Governor Soludo for ensuring uninterrupted five-day schooling for Anambra students comparable to their peers in other states.
She urged parents to support the policy by allowing their children attend school on Mondays, assuring them that the state government remains committed to the safety of students.
Teachers and staff at both schools also expressed support for the move, acknowledging the state government’s efforts to restore stability to the academic calendar.
