Before the emergency of the Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, as the Governor of Anambra State in March 17, 2022, Most of the roads in Anambra State were impassable, Security of life and property was nothing to write home about.
On assumption of office as the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Soludo immediately hold the bull by the horns and swore to rebuilding Anambra State to its original status. ‘Oluatuegwu’ roll the ground running by developing every sector simultaneously without discrimination.
In the above scenario, the road in Awka metropolis, Bishop Crowder College, Ministry of Works headquarters, down to Zik Avenue junction of the Old Road was amongst the other roads that were impassable.The insecurity within the area then was unbearable.
During the previous Governments, the residents in the area were all living in fear of the unknown. No business was taken place. People were not moving freely due to fear of being attacked, or robbed of their valuables. Today, the reverse is the case.
The residents, today are singing new songs as the road in question has taken a new face. Not just reconstructed, tarred, installed with Solar Street lights for illumination at night, and other beatification. All, courtesy of the Governor, Prof. Soludo.
The success story at the moment is that the abandoned area is bubbling with business activities. Night life is gradually taken place.Some renowned eateries like Crunches, Table 2 Eatery & Lounge, others, have opened their business offices and in operation seriously.
In the line up, Churches of different denominations have taken up part of the area as well.
In addition, the residents and those doing business in the area were showering praises on Mr Governor. Aboy Okoye, and Mrs Kate Okafor said that they doff their caps for the Governor, ‘OLUATUEGWU’, for reconstruction, installation of solar lights and other beatification. The area has been opened up for business activities alongside security of life and property that is being enjoyed.
