The Rector of Gozie Anyachebelu Polytechnic, Engr. (Mrs.) Chioma Helen Abone, has charged newly matriculated students and graduating Tech students to develop practical skills, embrace technology and uphold discipline and integrity as they prepare for the demands of the 21st century.

Mrs Abone gave the charge in a congratulatory message on Monday to the HND students and 18 graduating Tech students, describing their academic milestones as an important step in their educational and professional journeys.

She urged the newly admitted students to maximise their time in the institution by learning continuously, building meaningful relationships and developing the capacity to solve problems in a rapidly changing technological environment.

According to her, academic qualifications alone are no longer sufficient in the 21st century, stressing the importance of practical skills, creative thinking, effective communication, technological competence and a willingness to learn.

“To our new students, welcome to the Polytechnic. Make the most of your time here, build meaningful relationships, learn continuously and prepare yourselves to become problem-solvers and leaders,” she said.

The Rector also reminded the graduating Tech students that completing their programme should mark the beginning of another phase of learning, innovation and professional development rather than the end of their educational journey.

She encouraged them to deploy the technical skills acquired during their training towards entrepreneurship, innovation and solutions that would contribute positively to society.

Abone congratulated both groups of students and expressed optimism about their future, urging them to combine knowledge and skills with good character as they pursue their respective academic and career aspirations.
