The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has announced that the written examination for prospective Police Constables will hold from April 28 to April 30, 2026, across designated centres nationwide.
The Commission disclosed that the examination will be conducted simultaneously in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, covering both General Duty and Specialist applicants.
According to the PSC, only candidates who successfully passed the earlier physical and credentials screening exercise are eligible to sit for the examination. Qualified applicants have been advised to visit the official recruitment portal from April 24, to print their Examination Invitation Cards, which will contain vital details including date, time, and venue of their respective tests.
The Commission outlined mandatory items candidates must present at the examination centres. These include a valid National Identification Number (NIN) slip issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), bearing a clear photograph, a printed Examination Invitation Card, and writing materials such as a pen. Candidates are also required to adhere strictly to the prescribed dress code of white shorts, white T-shirt, and white canvas shoes.
In a stern warning, the PSC reiterated that the entire recruitment process remains free of charge and cautioned applicants to steer clear of fraudsters and unauthorized individuals demanding payment for job placement. The Commission emphasized that any act of job racketeering, scam, or financial inducement will attract severe legal consequences.
The announcement was contained in a press statement issued by the PSC’s Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, Torty Njoku Kalu, in Abuja on April 23.
