The President General, Akpo Development Association(ADA), Nze Henry C. Dim, has called on political gladiators, especially those wanting political offices to tackle economic cum political issues and not personalities.
He said this while interacting with information officers, at Akpo, in Aguata LGA, on October 1.
The PG said, “Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s superlative performance is crystal clear to the blind even. His 3 years and 6 months in office has made Anambra State referral State, an epitome of States in the committee of States in Nigeria.
“So, telling the people that he has not done well, when they know he has, tantamount to demarcating oneself. Using propaganda to attack ones personal life instead of facing the issues at hand is like chasing shadow instead of substance.
“For instance, Soludo has introduced free education to nursery, primary and secondary schools across all public schools in Anambra State. If you can bit this, how? Perhaps, you may want to include public mission and mission mission schools, how will you go about the resources?
“He has engaged over 8000 teachers, yet there are still pocket of shortage of teachers. How many are you going to employ and how will you get the resources?
“Anambra State under Soludo is running health insurance scheme, where a token of N12,000 premium per annum gives indigenes and none indigenes within Anambra State access to health facilities. How will you improve on this scheme?
“Pregnant women, nursing mothers and new born babies are already enjoying free medicare. What are you going to add to it?
“Anambra State Road infrastructure are already putting on new look. What are you going to do better?
“These and many more are issues to tackle instead of wasting time to talk about personal hygiene that is not verifiable nor direct impact to an average Onye Anambra.”
On certificate issues, PG said, “it is informative, we need to know about one’s educational certificate, to knowing how well a person has followed before wanting to lead.
“If a man has questionable primary, secondary and even university education certificates, he must have told the world that he did not follow well as such must not lead well. It is not a problem to prove the authenticity of one’s educational certificate in the pages, hiring senior advocates to prove it in the law court is questionable.”
PG added that Anambra State is known for civility, especially when it comes to political cum electoral matters. “Let us maintain this tempo. It is not market women affairs neither is it face me and face you yard issues but educated, matured business of calibres.
“No permanent enemy in politics, neither is there permanent friend. So, let us play it with decorum as enemies to meet again as friends as time permits.”
Nze Dim felicitated with President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Governor Soludo and Nigerians at 65th Anniversary of Independence.
He enjoined Nigerians not to feel bad about the galloping economy but work hard to surviving it, expressing optimism that Nigeria will be great before long.
