Christians at SS Simon and Jude Anglican Church on today, May 24, celebrated Pentecost with a call on believers to remain steadfast in faith and allow the Holy Spirit to guide their daily lives.
Delivering the sermon during the Pentecost Sunday service, Rev. Ifeanyi Udealor urged Christians to embrace peace, unity, and spiritual renewal as symbols of the Pentecost experience.
The cleric preached from John 20:19-31 and Acts 2:1-21, emphasizing the significance of the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles.

According to him, Pentecost represents courage, transformation, and the power of God working through believers to spread love and righteousness in society.
Rev. Udealor noted that the Holy Spirit gives Christians the strength to overcome fear, remain faithful, and contribute positively to their communities, encouraging members to maintain peaceful relationships with one another and continue to pray for the progress and unity of the nation.
Some worshippers who reacted after the service described the sermon as inspiring and impactful.
Mrs. Ebere Okpara said the message reminded Christians of the importance of trusting God in difficult situations and allowing the Holy Spirit to direct their actions.
Mr. Ben Okafor described the Pentecost celebration as spiritually uplifting, adding that the teachings on unity and peace were timely for families and society.
Also speaking, Mrs Amara Nwogu expressed gratitude to God for the successful celebration and encouraged youths to remain committed to Christian values and prayerful living.
The Pentecost Sunday celebration featured special prayers, thanksgiving, worship sessions, and songs of praise by the congregation.
