PARISH PRIEST URGES CATHOLIC FAITHFUL TO EMBRACE SANCTIFICATION THROUGH THE HOLY EUCHARIST

The Parish Priest of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Umunze Rev. Fr. Jude Offordum has called on the catholic faithful to embrace sanctification through the holy Eucharist as an opportunity for them to carry the living Christ out into the world for all to see.
He made the remarks during the commemoration of the solemnity of Corpus Christi at St. Joseph Catholic church, Umunze, stressing the importance of sanctification that comes from the Holy Eucharist.
Fr. Offordum said Corpus Christi is an integral part of the catholic liturgical year, a time outside of lent to reflect upon the most important element of every mass: the body and blood of Christ himself. It enables the faithful to meditate upon the sublime gift of the holy Eucharist, he maintained. “Corpus Christi is an important part of the catholic liturgical year, a time to reflect and praise the wondrous gift of the holy Eucharist”.
The cleric stressed the indispensable role of the holy Eucharist in the lives of Christians, and enjoined the congregants to embrace the holy Eucharist which sanctifies, and aids spiritual growth.
”Holy Eucharist is very important in the lives of the faithful. It draws us closer to Christ, it attracts the grace of God. It frees from the taint of sin , therefore, should be embraced by every catholic faithful”
He further, charged the faithful to see Corpus Christi as an opportunity to find, renew and increase our knowledge and love of for the blessed sacrament, and by it participate in the renewal of the church in this world.
