The Mayor of Onitsha North Local Government Area, Hon. Nweze Tony Nwora, has extended warm felicitations to His Majesty, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe (Agbogidi), the Obi of Onitsha, on the celebration of his 24th Ofala Festival, describing the monarch as a beacon of peace, unity, and cultural preservation.
In a goodwill message, Mayor Nwora commended Igwe Achebe for his visionary leadership, wisdom, and steadfast commitment to the welfare and progress of the Onitsha community. He noted that under the monarch’s reign, Onitsha has continued to flourish not only as a commercial hub but also as a symbol of cultural pride and harmony.
“His Majesty’s leadership has remained a source of strength and inspiration to the people of Onitsha. Agbogidi’s deep commitment to community development and his tireless efforts to promote peace and cultural identity have elevated Onitsha to greater heights.”
Mayor Nwora also emphasized the significance of the Ofala Festival as a unifying celebration that showcases the rich heritage of the Onitsha people while fostering togetherness and continuity of tradition.
Reaffirming his administration’s dedication to ensuring the welfare, security, and development of residents, the Mayor prayed for God’s continued blessings, good health, and long life for the revered monarch.
“On behalf of the government and people of Onitsha North, I congratulate our royal father on this joyous occasion. May this year’s Ofala bring renewed peace, prosperity, and joy to all sons and daughters of Onitsha.”
