The Chief Medical Director(CMD) of Okpoko General Hospital, Dr. Patrick Anisiobi, has reaffirmed his commitment to effective healthcare delivery, staff discipline and improved patient care, declaring that indiscipline and negligence have no place in the hospital.
Dr. Anisiobi gave the assurance during an interview with Information Officers in his office at the hospital on Oct. 29.
He said that since assuming office, he had remained focused on ensuring that healthcare workers discharge their responsibilities diligently and maintain the standards required to provide quality services to patients.

The CMD attributed the establishment of the hospital and four others to Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s commitment to bringing accessible and affordable healthcare closer to residents across Anambra State.
He particularly commended the Governor for introducing free antenatal care and delivery services at the facility, describing the initiative as a major relief to expectant mothers and families in the Okpoko community.
According to him, the hospital has continued to attract residents seeking medical attention, adding that its available facilities support the delivery of essential healthcare services.
However, Dr. Anisiobi identified some challenges affecting the smooth operation of the hospital, including flooding, inadequate electricity supply and the absence of a functional ambulance.
Other needs, he said, include ceiling fans, mosquito nets, patients’ chairs and additional hospital beds to enhance comfort and improve service delivery.
He appealed to the state government to address these challenges through sustainable interventions, noting that providing the necessary infrastructure and equipment would further strengthen the hospital’s capacity to serve the growing healthcare needs of the community.
The CMD expressed optimism that addressing the identified gaps would improve patients’ experience, boost staff efficiency and enhance the overall quality of healthcare delivery at the facility.
