The Mayor of Ogbaru Local Government Area(LGA), Hon. Kenneth Akwuobi, on June 4 joined the member representing Ogbaru Constituency I in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Noble Igwe, and the Coordinator of the Solution Continues Team in Ogbaru, Comrade Eze Ikechukwu (Senator Iyke), on a monitoring tour to assess compliance with the state’s environmental sanitation directive across the LGA.
The inspection formed part of the implementation of the State of Emergency on the Environment declared by the Anambra State Government. The team visited major communities and strategic locations within the local government to evaluate residents’ participation in the statewide sanitation exercise.
During the tour, the officials inspected public spaces, monitored sanitation activities, and engaged residents on the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
They stressed that environmental sanitation is a collective responsibility, urging communities to sustain cleanliness beyond the monthly sanitation exercise. While commending residents and communities that complied with the directive and maintained clean surroundings, they encouraged others to improve their efforts in support of the state’s environmental campaign.
The delegation reaffirmed its commitment to the environmental vision of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, noting that a cleaner environment is essential for improved public health, sustainable development, and the overall well-being of residents.
Residents who interacted with the team applauded the inspection exercise, describing it as a demonstration of responsive leadership and a practical commitment to ensuring that Ogbaru aligns with the state’s vision of a cleaner, healthier, and more livable environment.
The exercise also underscored the collaboration between the Ogbaru Local Government Administration, the Ogbaru State Assembly representative, and the Solution Continues Team in promoting environmental responsibility and supporting the Anambra State Government’s environmental policies across the local government area.
