‎Market leaders across Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra State, have endorsed candidates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ahead of the 2027 general elections, pledging to mobilise traders and secure electoral support for the party.
‎
‎The endorsement was made by leaders of major markets in the area, including Relief Market, Plastic Market, Ogbo-Efere, Amazu Spare Parts Market, Scrap Dealers Market, International Textile Market, Solution Market Okpoko and Coca-Cola Market, among others.
‎
‎The strategic meeting, held on October 28 at Madam Di-Maalu Joint, opposite Obiano Terminal Motor Park, Obodoukwu Road, Ogbaru, attracted APGA candidates, party stakeholders, youth leaders, women leaders and ward representatives.
‎
‎Coordinator of the Market Leaders, Chief Ndubuisi Ochiogu, said the meeting provided an opportunity for traders to formally declare their support for APGA, describing the party as their preferred political platform in Anambra State.
‎
‎Ochiogu disclosed that plans were underway to erect billboards displaying APGA candidates across various markets as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s visibility and mobilise voters ahead of the elections. He also pointed to existing displays within his market as evidence of their commitment.
‎
‎The APGA Local Government Secretary, Hon. Chimezie Osigwe, announced that 23-member executive committees had been established across the markets to coordinate activities and strengthen grassroots mobilisation for the party.
‎
‎Also speaking, the APGA Local Government Chairman, Pst. Onochie Obiora, expressed confidence in the party’s electoral prospects, commending the market leaders for their commitment and support.
‎
‎Responding on behalf of Sen. Stella Oduah, candidate Hon. Chukwuka Wilfred Onyema thanked the traders for their endorsement and assured them that their concerns would receive attention, beginning with a condolence visit to dealers at Amazu Spare Parts Market.
‎
‎Onyema pledged to work closely with Ochiogu and the zonal leader, Chief Ogboo-Ogu Nwanodi, to address the needs and demands of traders, stressing the importance of responsive and accountable representation.
‎
‎The market leaders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting APGA candidates across Ogbaru in the 2027 general elections, promising to sustain mobilisation efforts and encourage traders to participate actively in the electoral process.
