The Office of the Deputy Mayor of Ogbaru Local Government Area (LGA), led by Hon. Charles Umunna, has been commended for its outstanding support as an official partner of the Young Minds Math Challenge 2026, reinforcing its commitment to educational development and academic excellence in the LGA.
Recognised on July 7, the deputy mayor’s office provided institutional support throughout the planning and execution of the competition, working closely with the organisers to ensure its success. The collaboration underscored the office’s dedication to promoting quality education and creating opportunities for young learners to excel.
The organisers described the partnership as a strategic investment in the future of children, noting that the competition encouraged critical thinking, problem-solving skills and self-confidence while inspiring pupils to develop a greater interest in mathematics.
They acknowledged Hon. Umunna’s unwavering encouragement and support, saying that his collaboration motivated participants to approach the competition with enthusiasm, curiosity and determination.
According to the organisers, the partnership strengthened the competition’s objective of identifying, nurturing and rewarding outstanding young mathematics talents while encouraging greater community participation in educational development across Ogbaru.
