The Ogbaru Local Government Council has commenced work to improve the condition of Ogbaru Road, beginning from Ugah Junction, following a commitment by the council’s mayor, Hon. Nnamdi Ifejika.
Ifejika, had on Oct. 15 convened a meeting with sand miners and security chiefs to discuss urgent measures to improve the road’s condition.

Barely a week after the meeting, heavy equipment and construction materials were mobilised to the site on Oct. 22 to commence the work.
The road’s poor condition has caused hardship for residents and other road users, making the intervention necessary to improve accessibility.
Speaking at the site, Ifejika said his administration understood the difficulties faced by residents and would continue working to make the road motorable.

A resident, Mrs Joy Okonkwo, commended the mayor for the prompt intervention, describing it as a demonstration of responsive leadership and a benefit of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.
The council is expected to continue working with relevant stakeholders, including sand miners and security chiefs, to support efforts to improve the roads condition.
