The outgoing Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Mr. Tochukwu Obodogha, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to God, the ministry’s leadership, management and staff as he concludes his tenure and embarks on a new assignment within the Anambra State Civil Service.
In a farewell message issued on July 7, Mr. Obodogha thanked God for the privilege of serving as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment since March 20, 2024, describing his time in office as both impactful and deeply fulfilling.
He also commended the Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Clem Aguiyi, for his exemplary leadership and steadfast support throughout his tenure. According to him, the strong collaboration among the ministry’s leadership and staff played a vital role in the successful execution of the ministry’s policies and programmes.
Expressing gratitude to the entire workforce, Mr. Obodogha praised their commitment, professionalism and teamwork, noting that their collective efforts helped advance the ministry’s vision of maintaining a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable environment.
He disclosed that he has been redeployed to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, where he will also serve as the Supervising Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Housing.
He prayed for God’s continued guidance and blessings upon the Ministry of Environment and its personnel, expressing optimism that the ministry would record even greater achievements under the leadership of the incoming Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Chinyere Nwabachili.
He further urged members of staff to accord his successor the same level of cooperation and dedication they extended to him, while encouraging them to remain disciplined, proactive and committed to excellence in the discharge of their duties to sustain the ministry’s progress.
