Chief Mrs. Amaka Obi has congratulated Chief Leo Okafor on his emergence as President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos Branch, describing it as a significant milestone for the Igbo community in the state.
In a statement, Obi, an All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) aspirant for the Idemili South Constituency seat in the Anambra State House of Assembly, said Okafor’s election reflects the confidence and trust reposed in his leadership by Ndi Igbo in Lagos.
She noted that his emergence is a testament to his track record of service, integrity, and commitment to unity and development, expressing optimism that his leadership would strengthen the voice and cohesion of the organisation.
Obi further commended Okafor’s ability to foster harmony and build consensus, adding that his tenure is expected to usher in greater progress and purposeful representation for the Igbo community.
She, then, called on members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos to support the new leadership, emphasizing the need for unity and collective effort in advancing shared interests.
Obi also prayed for wisdom and success for Okafor as he assumes leadership of the organisation.
