The leadership of Nzam Youth on July 20, paid a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Anambra West Local Government Area(LGA), Hon. Mrs. Edith Nkeiru Ndive, to commend her administration’s developmental strides, reaffirming its commitment to supporting the LGA’s development agenda.

Led by its President, Mr. Christian Ogugua, the delegation praised the mayor’s dedication to public service and her efforts toward improving the welfare of the people, assuring her of the youths’ continued support for initiatives that promote peace, unity and sustainable development across the local government.

The youth leaders highlighted critical areas requiring government attention, including improved security, better educational and healthcare facilities, youth employment, empowerment programmes and enhanced transportation to improve connectivity within the area.

Responding, Hon. Ndive expressed appreciation for the visit and the recognition, describing the gesture as a source of encouragement and a reflection of the confidence young people have in her administration.

She assured the delegation that their concerns would receive due attention, noting that the LGA would continue to engage relevant authorities to address the identified needs within the limits of available resources.

The mayor disclosed that the Anambra West Local Government was currently sponsoring about 50 youths in various vocational and skills acquisition programmes, adding that beneficiaries would receive start up support to establish businesses upon completing their training, as part of efforts to promote youth self reliance and economic empowerment.

Hon. Ndive urged the youths to shun crime and other social vices, encouraging them instead to remain united, law abiding and actively engage with the National Youth Council of Nigeria in advancing the development of the area.

As a highlight of the visit, the Nzam Youth presented the mayor with a framed portrait in recognition of her selfless service, purposeful leadership and commitment to the growth and development of Anambra West LGA.

The visit concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to strengthening collaboration, promoting youth development, advancing sustainable progress across communities in Anambra West.
