The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Idemili South Chapter, on June 18, has paid a condolence and solidarity visit to the management and students of the College of Nursing Sciences, Alor, following the tragic death of Miss.Vivian Chiamaka Chilaka
The NYCN delegation was joined by student leaders from the State and Zonal Executive of the National Association of Nigerian Student Nurses and Midwives (NANSNM) during the visit, has condemned the tragic death of Miss.Vivian Chiamaka Chilaka saying that Justice must be served for young Vivian.
In a demonstration of grief and a demand for justice, students staged a peaceful protest within the Alor community, calling for swift action and improved security measures.
Addressing the students, the Coordinator of NYCN Idemili South, Rotr. Eruchalu Onyeka, conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the youths of Idemili South Local Government Area.
He commended the students for their unity and maturity in the face of the tragedy, while urging them to remain calm, peaceful, and law abiding as investigations continue.
Rotr. Onyeka assured the students that the NYCN leadership is closely monitoring developments and working with relevant authorities to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
As part of efforts to facilitate immediate intervention, the NYCN Coordinator also held strategic discussions with the President-General of the community on the need to strengthen security and address concerns arising from the incident.
Responding to the concerns raised, the President-General pledged to visit Alor personally to assess the situation and support measures aimed at enhancing security within the community.
The NYCN Idemili South Chapter reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the safety, welfare, and rights of youths and students across the Local Government Area.
The Council also prayed for the peaceful repose of Miss.Vivian’s soul and extended its deepest sympathies to her family, friends, colleagues, and the entire College of Nursing Sciences community during this difficult time.
