The Department of Biology, Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe (NOCEN), on Aug. 21, held its final-year project defence, providing graduating students with an opportunity to present their research findings and demonstrate their academic and practical knowledge.
The exercise featured a series of engaging research presentations through which the students showcased their understanding of biological concepts, creativity, analytical abilities and research competence.

During the defence, the students presented their research methodologies, findings, observations and conclusions, demonstrating their ability to apply classroom knowledge to practical issues affecting society and the environment.
The exercise also provided supervisors and assessors with an opportunity to evaluate the projects and offer constructive observations and recommendations aimed at improving the students’ research skills and academic development.
The students demonstrated confidence, critical thinking, innovation and a sound understanding of their respective research topics, reflecting the academic standards and values promoted by the department.

The project defence further highlighted the importance of research in equipping students with the capacity to identify challenges, develop practical solutions and contribute to scientific advancement and community development.
The Department of Biology congratulated the final-year students on attaining the significant academic milestone and encouraged them to sustain their commitment to learning, innovation, excellence and continuous professional development.
NOCEN continues to promote academic excellence, knowledge and innovation by equipping students with relevant skills and practical experiences to enable them make meaningful contributions to their chosen professions and communities.
