The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Anambra State Directorate, has urged health workers to remain committed to saving lives despite funding and operational challenges confronting the health sector.
The State Director of NOA, Lady Ifeoma Evangeline Chijioke, made the call on Aug. 13 at the Anambra State Health Promotion Strategic Framework Costed Implementation Plan Workshop held in Awka.
Lady Chijioke, who is also a lawyer, said health workers remained critical to improving health outcomes, particularly among women, children and vulnerable communities across the state.
She acknowledged the sacrifices health workers make daily, noting that timely information, access to healthcare services and consistent follow up could make the difference between life and death, particularly in maternal and child health.
“Inadequate funding of some health programmes should not discourage you from serving the people,” she said.
The workshop highlighted key challenges affecting health promotion in the state, including weak coordination among programmes, inadequate and unsustainable funding, fragmented communication activities, limited workforce capacity and poor health promotion data systems.
It was aimed at identifying practical measures to strengthen health promotion and ensure that vital health messages reached communities that needed them most.
Chijioke said NOA remained committed to supporting health workers through effective orientation and sustained information campaigns across the state.
