The Executive Chairman of Njikoka Local Government Area, Hon. Ikechukwu Okakpu, alongside his Deputy, Hon. Nwanadile Ifunanya Chinenyenwa, on October 5, embarked on an extensive inspection tour of major markets across the local government.
The markets visited included Oye-Agu Market, Abagana, Nkwo Enugwu-Ukwu Market, and Afor Nawfia Market.

During the tour, the Chairman interacted with market leaders, union executives and traders on the need for environmental cleanliness and proper waste disposal. He noted that a clean market environment aligned with the vision of the Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, for a clean, green, prosperous and sustainable Anambra, stressing that cleanliness is essential for good health and thriving commerce.
Hon. Okakpu also cautioned traders against indiscriminate roadside trading and sales along road corridors, urging them to relocate to designated market stalls for their safety and to ensure free flow of traffic.

He assured traders that his administration would continue to improve market infrastructure and create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive in Njikoka.
The Chairman was accompanied by his Deputy, the 18 Ward Councillors, and other key stakeholders of the local government who pledged their support for the administration’s drive to reposition markets in the area.
