The Nigerian
Optometric Association (NOA), Anambra State Chapter, has paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA), Dr Augustine Ezeka, at the Agency’s office in Awka.
The visit, which took place on August 31, was to congratulate Dr Ezeka on his appointment and discuss areas of mutual interest, particularly the integration and strengthening of eye care services under the state health insurance scheme.
The Chairman of NOA, Anambra State Chapter, Dr Mba Chiamaka, congratulated the Executive Secretary and wished him a successful tenure. She highlighted the Association’s commitment to providing quality eye care and preventing avoidable blindness.

She called for stronger collaboration between NOA and ASHIA to improve access to comprehensive eye care services for residents and ASHIA enrollees across the state.
Responding, Dr Ezeka warmly welcomed the delegation and thanked the Association for the visit and goodwill. He expressed ASHIA’s readiness to collaborate with relevant healthcare professionals to improve the quality of healthcare services available to enrollees.
The visit ended with both parties expressing optimism about strengthening their partnership towards improved eye care and better health outcomes for the people of Anambra State.
