Residents and road users in Eke Nibo are experiencing relief and improved safety this Easter season, thanks to the effective use of traffic lights at the busy market junction.
As the Easter celebrations draw large crowds to markets, churches, and family gatherings, the Eke Nibo junction—once known for congestion and confusion—has become more organized and safer for both motorists and pedestrian traffic
Traders at the bustling Eke Nibo market say the development has improved business activities. Mrs. Stella Okoye, a food vendor, shared her joy:
“Customers can now cross the road without fear. Before, people were always running to avoid vehicles. Now, when the light turns red, cars stop, and people move freely. It will really help us to sell better this Easter.”
Pedestrians also expressed a renewed sense of safety. A student, Miss Chiamaka Eze, noted:
“I feel safer crossing the road now, even with the Easter rush. The traffic light controls everything, and drivers are beginning to obey it.”
Road safety officials emphasized that traffic lights are essential during high-traffic periods, helping to reduce accidents, control congestion, and instill discipline among drivers.
They also urged motorists, pedestrians, and traders to continue respecting the signals to maintain order and safety.
With the successful operation of the traffic light at Eke Nibo, this Easter season is not only marked by celebration but also by improved safety, smoother movement, and a growing sense of modern development in the community.
