The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Enugu Operations Office, has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening disaster management through enhanced collaboration with emergency agencies in Anambra State.
The renewed commitment was demonstrated during separate courtesy visits to the Anambra State Emergency Management Agency (ANSEMA) and the Anambra State Fire Service in Awka on July 1.

Leading the delegation, the Head of NEMA Enugu Operations Office, Mrs. Priscilla Madukwe, first visited ANSEMA headquarters and was received by the agency’s Deputy Director, Mrs. Omega Ndidi.
Mrs. Madukwe said the visit aimed to strengthen existing partnerships and deepen cooperation in disaster risk reduction, emergency preparedness, response operations, and post-disaster recovery across Anambra State.

She stressed that effective disaster management depends on strong partnerships, regular engagement, coordinated planning, and information sharing among federal and state emergency management agencies.
The SEMA Deputy Director Mrs. Omega Ndidi appreciated the visit and assured NEMA of ANSEMA’s continued commitment to collaborative disaster preparedness, emergency response, and humanitarian interventions across the state.
Both agencies exchanged ideas on improving operational efficiency and agreed to sustain closer cooperation, ensuring prompt emergency response and better protection of lives and property.
The delegation later visited the Anambra State Fire Service, where Director Engr. Chiketa Chukwudi welcomed the team and praised NEMA’s efforts to strengthen institutional collaboration.
Engr. Chukwudi pledged continued cooperation with NEMA in emergency preparedness, firefighting, rescue operations, and disaster response.
