NAWFIA WOMEN HOME, ABROAD SEEK GREATER UNITY, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

en Wing Home and Abroad has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting unity, community development and cultural preservation during its 2026 General Meeting.

The meeting held on Aug.1 brought together members from Nigeria and the diaspora to review the association’s activities, assess ongoing projects and adopt strategies to improve women’s welfare, support education, promote youth development and strengthen ties among members.

Speaking at the meeting, the President of the association, Evangelist Mrs. Georgina Mbaonu, commended members for their steadfast commitment despite prevailing economic challenges.

Mbaonu urged the women to remain united and sustain their support for initiatives aimed at advancing the development of Nawfia community.

“Our strength lies in our unity. Through collective effort, we can achieve lasting development for Nawfia,” she said.

She described the meeting as productive and expressed appreciation to members at home and abroad for their unwavering support and valuable contributions to the association’s growth.

A member of the association based abroad, Mrs. Ifeoma Okechukwu, said geographical distance should not diminish the commitment of members in the diaspora to the progress of their hometown.

“We remain committed to supporting development projects in Nawfia and collaborating with our members at home for the overall growth of the community,” she said.

Also speaking, a community elder, Engr. Emmanuel Nwoye, commended the women for their sustained contributions to humanitarian services and community development, noting that their initiatives had continued to make a positive impact and deserved the support of all stakeholders.

The meeting ended with prayers for peace, unity and sustained development in Nawfia, as members reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation between women at home and those in the diaspora.
