Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Awka paid a visit to the Nigerian Correctional Service, Amawbia in the spirit of Easter.
During the visit, the Ministry supported the detainees with free feeding packages, bags of satchet water, drugs and cash donations.
The delegation was led by the Acting Director Administration, Mrs. Stacia Emenike and other staff members.

They were respectfully received by the staff of the correctional Service, who gave them the opportunity to engage with the detainees and present the support.
According to Mrs. Emenike Stacia, the visit was in the spirit of Easter and part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to promote community development and social welfare.
She urged the inmates to give their lives meaning by acquiring skills that will help stabilize them in the society.

Mrs. Emenike also admonished them to turn a new leaf and distance themselves from criminal activities capable of bringing them back to detention whenever they get released.
She asked them to continue to trust in God and be prayerful as there is no situation that is beyond God.

The Officer In-Charge of the Correctional Centre, Mrs Nkiru Ameh, lauded the efforts of the Ministry, for making a difference in the lives of the underprivileged.
One of the inmates, Daniel Godwin thanked the Ministry for providing for them and pray to God to continue to bless them.
