The Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Dr Law Mefor, on Friday, September 25, 2026, received members of the Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Information who were on oversight function to the ministry.
Dr Mefor, who received the delegation alongside the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr Obiageli Uchebo and other management staff, said the ministry was carrying out its mandate to the best of its ability while introducing innovations to reflect its expanded role as Ministry of Information and Value Reformation.

According to the commissioner, the ministry has assembled a coalition of the willing that has put together a manual to diagnose what went right or wrong with the value system of Ndi Anambra and how to reverse the trend. He said the core objective is to recover the lost traditional values and re-inculcate in youths the principle that there is no wealth without work.

Mefor disclosed that a dedicated unit and physical office for the value reformation project is being set up within the ministry, with support enlisted from individuals and organisations. He added that the policy manual has been sent to Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo for his input and will be presented to the Anambra State Executive Council before take-off, while the blueprint will be forwarded to the committee for review, even as he said he would invite to the unveiling of the blueprint soonest.

He further thanked the committee for the visit, describing members as friends and brothers of over 30 years brought together again by divine providence, and expressed optimism that the healthy relationship between the ministry and the committee will be sustained for the benefit of the state.
Earlier, the chairman of the committee, Hon. Fred Ezenwa, who led Hon. Golden Iloh (Ihiala 2), Hon. Patrick Udoba (Anambra West) and Hon. Emma Nwafor (Orumba South), said the visit was essentially a familiarisation visit and not a witch-hunt.
Ezenwa said the committee members divided themselves to cover other House engagements and wanted the commissioner to brief them on his stewardship since his nomination and swearing-in, and identify areas requiring legislative support through motions and bills.
