MAYOR OF ORUMBA NORTH CONGRATULATES NONYE SOLUDO ON 2026 BUDGIT ACTIVE CITIZENS AWARD

The Mayor of Orumba North Local Government Area, Capt. Barr. Casmir Chinonso Nwafor (Rtd), has congratulated the Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr. (Mrs.) Nonye Soludo, on receiving the 2026 BudgIT Active Citizens Award for Health Activism, describing the honour as a fitting recognition of her outstanding contributions to public health and community development.

In a congratulatory message issued on Friday Aug. 7, the Mayor commended Dr. Soludo’s unwavering commitment to promoting healthy living and improving the well-being of the people of Anambra State through her various health advocacy initiatives.

He noted that the First Lady’s passion for public health has continued to inspire individuals and communities across the state, while driving positive change through programmes that promote preventive healthcare, healthy lifestyles, and community empowerment.

According to the Mayor, the prestigious award is a testament to Dr. Soludo’s selfless service, visionary leadership, and dedication to building a healthier and more prosperous Anambra State.

Capt. Nwafor stated that under the First Lady’s Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo initiative, many residents have embraced healthier lifestyles, resulting in increased awareness of disease prevention and improved public health outcomes.

He added that the recognition reflects the remarkable impact of Dr. Soludo’s tireless efforts and her unwavering commitment to uplifting the lives of Ndi Anambra through people-centred health interventions.
On behalf of the government and the people of Orumba North Local Government Area, the Mayor heartily congratulated Dr. Nonye Soludo on the well-deserved honour and wished her greater success in her continued service to humanity.

He expressed confidence that the award would further inspire the First Lady to sustain her impactful health advocacy and continue championing initiatives that improve the health and well-being of citizens across Anambra State.

The 2026 BudgIT Active Citizens Award for Health Activism recognises individuals whose dedication, leadership, and impactful initiatives have made significant contributions to advancing public health and promoting active citizenship.
