The Chairman of Anaocha Local Government Area(LGA), Hon. Romanus Ibekwe, has commissioned a newly completed solar-powered borehole and modern convenience facility at Afor-Agulu Market as part of efforts to improve public infrastructure and enhance the welfare of residents.
The projects, inaugurated on July 1, are aimed at providing reliable access to clean water, improving sanitation, upgrading the market environment to meet the standards of a modern commercial hub.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Ibekwe said the intervention reflects his administration’s commitment to delivering people-oriented projects across the ten communities that make up Anaocha LGA.

According to him, the projects are part of the broader infrastructural vision of the Soludo administration to improve the quality of life of residents and stimulate sustainable development at the grassroots.
“We came into office with a clear resolve to leave Anaocha infrastructurally better than we met it. To the glory of God, in less than two years, we have recorded remarkable progress in bringing meaningful development to our communities,” the mayor said.

Hon. Ibekwe expressed gratitude to Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his visionary leadership, noting that the governor’s development agenda continues to inspire local government administrations to translate his vision into projects that have direct impact on the lives of the people.
In separate remarks, the President-General of Agulu, Sir Emmanuel Ibeneme, and the Women Leader of Agulu, Mrs. Margaret Ejike, commended the LGA chairman for the projects, describing them as timely interventions that would improve the well-being of residents and traders.
They reaffirmed the community’s support for the Soludo administration, pledging to protect the facilities for the benefit of present and future generations.
The solar-powered borehole is expected to provide a sustainable source of clean water for traders and residents, while the modern convenience facility, equipped with running water, will promote proper hygiene, improve sanitation and enhance the overall cleanliness and dignity of the Afor-Agulu Market environment.
