The Mayor of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Amaka Obi, has described the month of August as a fresh opportunity to accelerate development, strengthen unity and improve the welfare of residents across the council area.
In a New Month message issued on August 1, Obi thanked God for His grace and protection over the people despite the challenges experienced in recent months.
She expressed optimism that the new month would usher in peace, renewed strength, flourishing businesses, academic success for students and abundant blessings for every household.
The mayor urged residents to sustain the spirit of cooperation, peaceful coexistence and mutual respect, stressing that meaningful and sustainable development could only thrive in a united society.
Obi reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to implementing people-oriented programmes aimed at improving residents’ welfare, enhancing public infrastructure, promoting environmental sanitation and creating more opportunities for women and youths.
She also called on residents to remain supportive of government policies and actively participate in community development, expressing confidence that collective efforts would foster greater progress and prosperity in Idemili South.
The mayor wished residents a rewarding and memorable August, expressing hope that the month would bring fresh achievements, answered prayers and sustained development across the local government area.
