The Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Edward Ibuzo, has warned that late submission of detailed vehicle information will attract sanctions.
In a directive dated July 23, 2026, the Ministry of Transport mandated all intra-state and inter-state transport companies operating in the state to submit comprehensive vehicle details on or before August 7.
The directive was part of efforts to strengthen digitization and improve management of the state’s transportation sector.
According to the public notice, operators were required to submit complete inventories of all vehicles operating under their company names, logos, and brands which included company-owned, leased, loaned, hired, and franchised vehicles.
The Ministry stated that submissions must be made using the prescribed template, either physically at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka, or electronically.
The Commissioner had earlier warned that all submissions would be verified before acceptance, and that defaulters would face penalties.
Following the expiration of the August 7 deadline, Ibuzo on August 14, granted a one-week grace period to companies yet to comply.
He urged affected operators to take advantage of the extension, warning that failure to submit within the grace period would attract sanctions from the Ministry.
The commissioner said that the exercise is aimed at establishing an accurate transport database, strengthening regulatory oversight, supporting digital transformation, and improving the administration of commercial transportation in Anambra State.
