Dr. Mefor gave the charge during the Batch B training of information officers held at the Ministry’s Situation Room, Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka. He emphasized the need for officers to dedicate time to self-improvement in order to remain relevant in the evolving digital communication landscape.

The Supervising Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Pharm. Dr. Oby Uchebo, urged the 185 information officers to commit to doing their jobs better, noting that meaningful impact in information dissemination would be achieved if each officer deployed his or her individual strengths effectively.

Also speaking, the Acting Director of Information, Mr Emmanuel U. Emmanuel, described the training as timely and crucial to the realization of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of a smart, livable mega city, in line with his “Everything Technology, Technology Everywhere” mantra.

Highlights of the training included sessions on script writing with Dr Chinwe Chuka, content creation, by Joseph Obunse, Uche Igboeli on social media ethics and video editing with capcut by Obianuju Umeh, aimed at strengthening digital communication and public engagement.

Delivering the vote of thanks, Angela Nwanodu commended the commissioner, permanent secretary, and all facilitators for the impactful training, expressing confidence that it would significantly improve the standard of information management in the state.
