The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the display of the voter register for claims and objections in Njikoka Local Government Area and other parts of Anambra State.

The exercise, which began on Oct. 9, is scheduled to end on Oct. 15.

The Njikoka Local Government Council said the exercise was not a fresh Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), but an opportunity for registered voters to verify their details and raise objections where necessary.

The exercise covers the correction of errors in voters’ details, complaints over omitted names and the identification of deceased persons and underage registrants for removal from the register.

It also provides for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) by voters who transferred their polling units in 2025.

The Mayor of Njikoka, Hon. Ikechukwu Okakpu, has urged residents of the council’s six communities to participate in the exercise.

The communities are Abagana, Abba, Enugwu Agidi, Enugwu Ukwu, Nawfia and Nimo.

Okakpu advised eligible residents to visit the INEC office at the Local Government Headquarters in Abagana to verify their details and collect their PVCs, where applicable, with the necessary documents.

He urged residents to maintain order at the centre and use the exercise to ensure that their voter records were accurate ahead of future elections.
