The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Mayoral aspirant for Onitsha South Local Government Area, Chief Ikechukwu Mofus Ezeoba, has commended workers in the council for their resilience and contributions to grassroots development, as Nigeria marks the 2026 Workers’ Day celebration.

In a statement issued on April 30, Chief Ezeoba praised both public and private sector workers for their dedication, describing them as the driving force behind the growth and stability of Onitsha South.

He noted that the commitment and sacrifices of workers remain central to the progress of the local government, assuring that their welfare and productivity would remain a top priority under his leadership.

“As we celebrate Workers’ Day, I salute the hard work and perseverance of all workers in Onitsha South. Your dedication sustains our economy and strengthens our community life,” he said.

The APGA flagbearer further reaffirmed his resolve to champion policies and initiatives that would improve working conditions and create opportunities for economic advancement within the council area.

In addition to his Workers’ Day message, Chief Ezeoba extended warm wishes to residents of Onitsha South on the occasion of the new month, expressing optimism for continued peace and development.

“May this new month bring progress, prosperity, and peace to every household in Onitsha South. Let us join hands to build a stronger and more vibrant council,” he added.

Workers’ Day, also known as International Labour Day, is observed annually on May 1 to honour the contributions of workers and promote labour rights across the world.
