The member representing Ogbaru Constituency I in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Noble Igwe, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) will record a landslide victory in Okpoko during the 2027 general elections.
Igwe made the prediction on October 22, during the unveiling of APGA campaign councils in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State. He attributed the party’s growing popularity in Okpoko to the development initiatives of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, citing improvements in road infrastructure, street lighting, borehole water supply, healthcare services and security.

According to him, the governor’s achievements have strengthened residents’ confidence in APGA, expressing optimism that the electorate would demonstrate their support for the party at the polls. “APGA is Okpoko, and Okpoko is APGA,” Igwe declared.
He also assured Hon. Prince Chukwuka Wilfred Onyema (Chuchu), APGA’s candidate for Ogbaru Federal Constituency, and Sen. Princess Stella Oduah (Omueze), the party’s candidate for Anambra North Senatorial District, of the community’s support ahead of the elections.

At the event, the Chairman of the Ogbaru APGA Campaign Council, Hon. Charles Umunna, unveiled the campaign leadership structure, appointing the Ogbaru Mayor, Hon. Nnamdi Ifejika, popularly known as Singa, as co-chairman, while the APGA Local Government Chairman, Hon. Onochie Obiora, was named secretary.
Chief Osigwe Chimezie and Comr. Nonso Nwaebili, Esq., were appointed coordinators for Ogbaru Constituencies I and II, respectively. Umunna explained that the campaign structure would be extended to ward and polling-unit levels to strengthen grassroots mobilisation, deepen voter engagement and improve coordination ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In his remarks, Onyema called on APGA members to remain united and committed to the party’s candidates, expressing confidence that their election would strengthen legislative representation and accelerate development across Ogbaru and Anambra North Senatorial District.
Meanwhile, Sen. Oduah disclosed that her free medical intervention programme had recorded approximately 60 successful surgeries across Anambra North Senatorial District. She listed hernia, fibroid and hydrocele procedures among the operations carried out under the initiative.
The unveiling ceremony attracted several political stakeholders, including the Deputy Mayor of Ogbaru, Hon. Ezekwueme Ikenna Michael; the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Aghaegbunam Ezeanuna; and other party leaders. The event formed part of APGA’s preparations for the 2027 general elections, with party officials emphasising grassroots mobilisation and unity as key strategies for securing electoral support.
