The Anambra State Hospital Administrator, Dr. Frank Ifeanaeme, has directed health workers across the state to remain at their duty posts and obtain proper authorisation before leaving, warning that unauthorised absence could attract disciplinary action.
Dr. Ifeanaeme issued the directive on Aug. 16 in a message to heads of health institutions across the state, stressing the importance of discipline and accountability in ensuring uninterrupted healthcare services.
He urged health workers to remain available at their assigned duty stations during working hours and to seek approval through the appropriate channels whenever they need to leave their posts.
The hospital administrator directed all health workers to participate in the ongoing verification exercise at the State Secretariat.
He cautioned that workers who fail to present themselves for verification risk being excluded from the exercise and may face consequences, including non payment of salaries and being regarded as having absconded from duty.
Dr. Ifeanaeme stressed that the exercise was important for maintaining accurate records of health personnel, ensuring accountability within the state’s health institutions.
He called on heads of health facilities to ensure that their staff complied with the directives, urging health workers to take the verification exercise seriously.
The hospital administrator reiterated the need for commitment and professionalism among health personnel, noting that their presence and dedication were essential to providing timely and effective healthcare services to residents of Anambra State.
