The Mayor of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Oluchukwu John Ilogbenu (Olutek), on October 31, attended the blessing of the Chapel of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Amansea, alongside the Executive Director of the Anambra State AIDS Control Agency (ANSACA), Dr. Nkem Okeke.
The chapel was built and donated to the parish by Rev. Fr. Dr. Raphael Azubuike Onyekwelu, Chaplain of the Anambra State Government House, in loving memory of his late mother, Madam Martina Chimezie Onyekwelu.

The gesture, the Mayor noted, represents a profound expression of faith, gratitude and selfless service to God, while preserving the memory of a beloved mother through a lasting contribution to the spiritual life of the Church.
Hon. Ilogbenu congratulated the parish community on the completion and blessing of the chapel, while commending Rev. Fr. Onyekwelu for the generous and enduring gift.
He observed that the project would serve not only as a place of worship but also as a lasting legacy of love and honour in memory of his mother.

The Mayor expressed the hope that the chapel would become a sanctuary of prayer, reflection and spiritual renewal, drawing parishioners and worshippers into deeper communion with Christ.
He prayed for God’s continued blessings upon Rev. Fr. Dr. Raphael Azubuike Onyekwelu and for the peaceful repose of the soul of his late mother, Madam Martina Chimezie Onyekwelu.
To God be all the glory, honour and adoration.
