A frontline aspirant for the Anambra State House of Assembly, Idemili South Constituency, Chief Mrs. Amaka Obi, has continued her consultations ahead of the 2027 elections with a courtesy visit to the Traditional Ruler of Alor Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Igwe Mac Anthony Okonkwo.

The visit, part of her stakeholder engagement efforts, took place at the royal palace, where she formally presented her intention to contest for the legislative seat.

Speaking during the meeting, Obi said her decision to run for office is driven by a strong commitment to effective representation and constituency development.

“My aspiration is rooted in a deep sense of responsibility to serve and ensure that the voices of our people are heard clearly at the State Assembly,” she said.

She stressed the importance of engaging traditional institutions, noting their role in maintaining peace, unity, and stability within communities.

“Traditional rulers remain key to community leadership. Seeking their guidance and blessing is important in any effort aimed at serving the people,” she added.

Obi also assured the monarch of her commitment to people-focused policies and responsive leadership if elected.

Sources at the palace said the traditional ruler offered prayers and encouraged peaceful political engagement among aspirants.

The visit is part of ongoing consultations by political aspirants as activities gradually build up ahead of the 2027 Anambra State House of Assembly elections.
