The Anambra Commissioner for Transport, Mr Edward Obiefuna Ibuzo, has outlined measures being implemented by the state government to improve transportation, road safety and regulatory compliance.
Ibuzo disclosed this on Aug. 6, when he featured as a special guest on the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) programme, “Ask the Commissioner”, broadcast live on ABS 88.5 FM.
He said the reforms were part of the Solution agenda of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration to modernise the state’s transport system and improve mobility.
According to him, the measures are focused on strengthening regulation, improving compliance and promoting a safer and more organised transport system across the state.
“The goal is to modernise our transport operations for the benefit of commuters, operators and other stakeholders.
“But this can only be sustained through cooperation among government agencies, transport unions, operators and commuters,” Ibuzo said.
The commissioner also highlighted some achievements recorded in the transport sector under the administration’s second term.
He responded to questions and concerns from listeners, explaining government policies and measures being implemented to address challenges in the sector.
“Ask the Commissioner” was initiated by the Commissioner for Information and Value Reorientation, Dr Law Mefor, as a platform for direct interaction between government officials and members of the public.
The programme provides citizens with an opportunity to seek clarification on government policies, programmes and interventions directly from relevant officials.
The commissioner’s appearance was part of efforts to deepen public engagement and provide information on developments in the transport sector.
