The Anambra State Hospital Administrator, Dr. Frank Ifeanaeme, has commended health workers at Solution Hospitals in Okpoko and Fegge for their dedication, professionalism and commitment to improved healthcare delivery.

During an inspection visit on July 23, Dr. Ifeanaeme praised the staff for maintaining high standards of service while emphasizing the need for greater accountability, efficiency and proper documentation across all hospital units.

He directed that inventories of hospital equipment, materials and personnel should be properly documented, endorsed by the appropriate officers and displayed in each department to promote transparency and facilitate effective monitoring of available resources and assigned staff.

The Hospital Administrator stressed that no health facility should experience a shortage of essential medicines, urging pharmacy units and other relevant departments to ensure a consistent supply of drugs for patients.

While interacting with women in the maternity ward, Dr. Ifeanaeme sought to verify compliance with the Anambra State Government’s free maternal healthcare policy. The patients confirmed that they received antenatal and delivery services free of charge, expressing appreciation to Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the initiative, commending the doctors, nurses and other health workers for their professionalism and quality of care.

To strengthen financial accountability, Dr. Ifeanaeme directed that all official payments must be processed through the Accounts Department before drugs are dispensed or services rendered.

In a related session, the Head of the Accounts Department, Mr. Ugochukwu Nwajagu, sensitized departmental heads on the importance of proper record keeping, accurate documentation and the issuance of original receipts to patients as part of sound hospital management practices.

The Hospital Administrator observed that both facilities recorded about 85 percent compliance with regulations on the use of name tags and appropriate staff uniforms, expressing satisfaction with the cleanliness of the hospital environment and the high level of staff attendance during the visit.

However, he directed that any staff member absent from duty without authorization should face appropriate disciplinary measures, stressing that discipline, accountability and commitment remain essential to delivering quality healthcare services across the state’s hospitals.
