Hon. Jude Akpua, Ph.D. (Omekannia), who represents Njikoka II Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, has facilitated the enrolment of 400 constituents in the Anambra State health insurance scheme through the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA).

The exercise, held on Oct. 10, at the LGA Hall, Njikoka Local Government Area(LGA) Secretariat, Abagana, is aimed at improving access to affordable and quality healthcare for the beneficiaries and their families.

During the programme, Miss Efogwo Uche of ASHIA’s Business and Marketing Department sensitised participants on the importance of health insurance, explaining how the scheme helps enrollees access healthcare services while reducing out-of-pocket medical expenses.

She encouraged the beneficiaries to understand and utilise the benefits available under the scheme to safeguard their health and wellbeing.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Anthony Okoye, expressed appreciation to Hon. Akpua for facilitating their enrolment, describing the initiative as meaningful support for the beneficiaries and their families.

The initiative aligns with the Anambra State Government’s efforts to expand health insurance coverage and advance Universal Health Coverage by making essential healthcare services more accessible to residents.

ASHIA has continued to encourage political leaders, philanthropists, community organisations and other stakeholders to partner with the agency in extending health insurance coverage to more Ndi Anambra.
