The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, visited the permanent site of the Solution Innovation District (SID) at the former Government House in Awka to personally track the pace of work on key projects driving Anambra State’s innovation and economic transformation.

He was received by the Special Adviser on Innovation and Business Incubation, Ms. Chinwe Okoli, alongside the SID management and project team, who walked him through the journey so far.

Moving through the building, Governor Soludo took time to inspect the facility from the inside out, pausing at different sections, asking questions, and examining workspaces that will soon host startups, innovators, and technology-driven enterprises. From core work areas to supporting facilities, the inspection offered a clear picture of how close the District is to becoming fully operational.

The Solution Innovation District is being developed as a hub where ideas can grow into real-world solutions. Designed to support startups, digital talents, innovators, and investors, SID represents a bold step toward building a strong technology ecosystem in Anambra State.

Often described as Africa’s Silicon Valley, the District is expected to become a place where young people acquire future-ready digital skills, businesses are incubated and scaled, and local innovations are connected to global markets.

As work progresses toward completion, SID is opening its doors to partners, accelerators, technology firms, investors, and development organisations from around the world to become part of the ecosystem and help shape the future of innovation in Anambra State.

The completion of the SID permanent site will mark a major milestone in the state government’s commitment to empowering young people, encouraging entrepreneurship, and building a sustainable innovation-driven economy that creates lasting opportunities for Anambra State and the wider African continent.
