The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, visited a 1.7Km road constructed by Chief Emmanuel Nwakanma in Achalla, Awka North Local Government Area, on May 13.
During the visit, the Governor expressed gratitude to Chief Nwakanma for his generosity, highlighting that the road will enhance safety for travellers and foster economic and social growth in the community. “This road will help residents live healthier lives, increase productivity, and attract more visitors and activities to Achalla, promoting its development.”
He praised Chief Nwakanma and all philanthropists in the state who have contributed to the development of the state with some notable projects, commending their efforts in transforming Anambra through Public-Private Community Partnerships (PPCP). “Your contributions are remarkable, and I commend Ndi Anambra who have embraced this strategy to develop our state rapidly.”
He urged community members to contribute in whatever ways they can for the benefit of their community and the state. “If you can’t build roads, buy a pencil for a child. Everyone can contribute in small ways; keeping the environment clean or supporting education to build a society we can all be proud of.”
Goverqnor Soludo thanked them for their support during his re-election, emphasising that Awka North is close to his heart.
“Achalla is a vibrant community with notable individuals, fertile land, and mineral resources, but it faces challenges due to some bad elements. We will work to remove criminal activities to foster progress, attract investments, and ensure lasting peace and governance.”
Chief Nwakanma, thanking the governor for his visit, said that the road was built to support government efforts and boost socio-economic activities.
“You called on Ndi Anambra to work for the good of the state, and I supported this vision by building this road for Achalla and our state’s development.”
