In a bid to ensure continued maximum security in the state, the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has said that he is committed to reviewing the monthly salaries of Agunechemba operatives in the state.
This announcement was made by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Security, Prince Ken Emeakayi, in his office, on resumption of his reappointment into the office.
He noted that this announcement is in tandem with the governor’s way of recognizing the operative’s dedication and commitment to combating banditry and other social vices that had previously plagued the local communities before the birth of this special security operative in the state.
He also informed that a Monitoring Team has been established to supervise the activities of the Agunechemba, noting that it is no longer business as usual. “This team will not be associated with our organization, but be composed of members of the general public, ranging from Keke operators, commercial bus drivers, local community members, etc.” Prince Emekayi said.
The security boss also noted that the system has promised zero tolerance policy against extortion and actions that violate the laws governing Agunechemba in the state, noting that the monitoring team would be equipped with advanced media technology to enable real-time capturing of any wrongdoing by the operatives.
He further extolled the Agunechemba Operatives for their courage, dedication and for the outstanding services they render to the good people of Anambra State.
“We encourage proactive engagements, and while we aim to enhance your welfare, we would also not forget to enforce strict disciplinary measures,” he said.
