The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma said that the first section of the Dualization And Reconstruction of Amawbia – Uga – Orlu Boundary Road will be completed in April this year.
Engr. Okoma made this known in his office at Awka during a media briefing.
According to Mr. Commissioner, the project which was less than a year with the first section being handled by Geld Construction Ltd is 16.1km and about 6km of asphalt has been laid on both lanes of the road making it a total 12km already asphalted. He said that the drainage works is 80% completed.
On the second section being handled by AG. Vision Ltd, Engr. Okoma said that concrete works has been completed, while pavement is ongoing. He said that substantial amount of the section has been asphalted.
Mr. Commissioner said that the project will terminate at Uga while the federal government takes it down to the boundary.
The Public Relations Officer of Geld Construction Ltd, Mr. Emmanuel Onah, said that the company is doing a quality job that will stand the test of time, assuring that the project will be completed in accordance to specifications and before the completion date.
He extolled the cooperation of the Ministry and the Communities saying it’s cordial.
