The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, has presented five new vehicles manufactured by Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) to the institution’s principal officers.
The vehicles were handed over to the beneficiaries on Sept. 1 during a brief ceremony held in front of Administrative Block I, popularly known as Aso Rock.

The beneficiaries are the Deputy Rector, Administration, Venerable Dr. Ferguson Ezeokafor; Deputy Rector, Academic, Dr. Nkiruka Akabuike; Registrar, Mr. Akeem Adeleke Ayola; Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Nwabu Ezemba; and Bursar, Mr. Jasper Anunike.
Speaking at the ceremony, Awuzie said the provision of the vehicles was part of her administration’s efforts to create an enabling environment for the principal officers to effectively perform their duties.

She said the vehicles would enhance administrative efficiency and support the officers in the discharge of their responsibilities towards the development of the Polytechnic.
The Rector also offered prayers for the beneficiaries, seeking divine guidance, protection and wisdom for them in the use of the vehicles.

Responding separately, the principal officers thanked Awuzie for the gesture and described the provision of official vehicles for all the principal officers as a significant development for the institution.
They commended the Rector for her leadership and commitment to institutional development.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Polytechnic community.
