The State Chairman Local Government Service Commission, Chief Vin Ezeaka (Esq), has called on the state government to introduce reforms in the public service sector to eradicate the rot undermining its Productivity.

Chief Ezeaka made the call in Awka while assessing the performance of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in his first term in office and unleashing his expectations on the governor’s second missionary journey.

According to the Commission’s boss, the reforms should anchor on digital proficiency and productivity driven.

He decried the poor attitude to work exhibited by some workers in the local government system which undermines productivity level in the 3rd tier of government.

Chief Ezeaka admitted that there is need for a recruitment exercise in the local government system to fill some vacant positions but such an exercise may not be feasible without first doing an in house staff rationalization to separate the corn from the chaff.

He also proposed a staff reorientation on the imperatives of work commitment, ethics and productivity.

He commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his excellent first term in office and urged him in his second term in office, to consolidate on his achievements.

On security, the Commission’s boss confirmed that the state has regained its near lost glory as the situation has greatly improved for the better especially in Ihiala and some other communities hitherto dubbed as no go areas for social engagements.

On the history of roads rehabilitation in his community Ihiala, Chief Ezeaka expressed hope that under Soludo’s watch, the ugly narrative of no completion of any road project in Ihiala town inherited since 1999 till date will be reversed.
