The Chairman Local Government Service Commission Chief Vin Ezeaka Esq, has congratulated the nation on its 65th Independence Anniversary.

Chief Ezeaka in a press statement in Awka ahead of the celebration, announced that there is every need to celebrate Nigeria made up of more than 250 ethnic groups.

According to the LGSC boss, a collection of people of diverse cultural backgrounds and languages who have passed through the crucible of a civil war, economic disorientation, and other social vices, need to celebrate their continued existence without disintegration.

He noted that Nigeria should not be compared with some ethnic nationalities that have common heritage and culture but should be hailed for staying together in spite of all odds, expressing hope that with time Nigeria will out grow its teething problems.

He commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for providing quality leadership in Anambra State and expressed conviction that come November 8, victory will be his at the polls.

On his part, the Chairman Civil Service Commission, Mr. Anthony Ezenwaka said that Anambra residents should be happy to celebrate the Independence of the state through the instrumentality of Governor Soludo who has redefined governance and taking the state to enviable heights.

According to Mr. Ezenwaka doubling as the President General Achina Town Union, the governor has simultaneously developed all sectors of the economy and made appreciable impacts in the three Senatorial Zones of the state.

Ahead Of the November 8 Governorship election in the state, the Civil Service Commission boss expressed hope that the Anambra electorate will reciprocate the governor’s magnanimity towards them.

In his message to the occasion, an Obstetrician Gynae Oncologist, Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital Nnewi, Associate Prof. Osita Umeononihu affirmed that Nigerians have nothing to celebrate, save for the fact that Nigeria has not disintegrated and people are still alive to witness another chronological independence anniversary.

Prof Umeononihu lamented that there are sad stories to tell in all sectors of the nation’s economy with little hope of relief.

The medical expert suggested that the only way forward is for the Nigerian electorate to be given the latitude to choose their leaders through the ballot box and let their votes count.

According to him, Nigeria needs transparency in the nation’s affairs to succeed as a people united for a common purpose.
